“Dopamine” is a warmly satisfying return from Robyn.
Wow! The dance-pop music icon dropped a single. She’d been “silent” for a few years, but last year, she reappeared on our AI-slop-ridden timelines via her appearance on the infection “360” remix. Let’s see what “Dopamine” is about.
The track has great vocals. The production is the kind of synth-pop affair you’d expect from Robyn’s discography. Overall, everything works, but nothing particularly stands out. And that’s not a bad thing, of course.
Overall, I feel like we’re overstating the track’s pizzazz a bit, probably because we’re all just excited to get some new Robyn music pulsing through our ears. But it’s definitely not a sucky track though. It’s very nice, but I feel like in the scope of tracks that are “worth the hype,” I’m not entirely sure this fits right in.
