This track is over nine minutes of well-written country music bliss. The performance is decent, but what really makes this song stand out is its writing. I love how each verse tells a different narrative but ultimately ends with “new threats from the soul.” And it’s such an uncommon string of words that seeing it make sense repeatedly on one track feels sensational. Another thing I really like is how unexpected production elements are thrown in lightly into the mix, like when, on one of the times Ryan sings “new threats from the soul,” there’s a sharp reverb that gives this near-addictive sinking feeling to the track overall.

You’re in or a bit of an enjoyably pedestrian ride with this track, especially if you’re a fan of the country/Americana music sound.
