“Why bother getting pissed off when there’s nothing you can do?” It’s always a delight seeing mainstream artists like Father John Misty reflecting the plight of the times in their own ways. And yes, while our algorithms are skewed omnidirectionally, there has been an observable growing frustration with economic situations across the world. That sentiment appears to have been captured well enough by Father John Misty and Drew Erickson, its credited writers. But it’s not all the “damn the system” here. At a glance, we have what you could describe as just another rock song, but the brief shifts in tone before the choruses hit are a great addition.

Overall, it’s a great track. Definitely worth listening to. It picks up the vibe where the Mahashmashana album left off, so the fans of that project, specifically, of which I’m sure there’s a plethora, are in for a light treat with this one.
